Newconsumer.tv asks “Is Cornwall’s Trelowarren the future of UK eco holidays?”
Trelowarren’s cottages are available for individual self catering holidays and there is also a timeshare option.
Cornish country estate Trelowarren is billing itself as the ultimate green holiday in the UK.
Set in 1,000 acres of ash and wild garlic-packed fields, paths and woods, the estate promises Scandinavian levels of insulation with its twin-framed buildings, carbon neutral green heating via an on-site biomass boiler and a restaurant that sources most of its food from a 10 mile radius.
Trelowarren's 15 dozen cottages are only, however, available via time-share on the premise that time-sharing is greener than people buying second homes - because it brings higher rates of occupancy.
That's the theory. But to find out what it's really like on the ground at the estate, Newconsumer.tv took the onerous job of going down to find out in person.
